Dear comrades,
The New Communist Party of the Netherlands (NCPN) sends its comradely greetings and wishes your Party every success with its 14th Congress on the 7th and 8th of September.
The TKP continues to offer the only genuine alternative for the Turkish working class that has to navigate itself through the economic hardships, amplified by crises and the devastating 2023 earthquake, and the meaningless political quibbles of inter-bourgeois competition. Under the banner “Strengthening for Revolutionary Tasks, Through Strengthening Towards Revolution and Socialism,” your Congress will help formulate answers and directions for the class-oriented anti-imperialist struggle. While Israel continues its genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people and the war in Ukraine escalates under the competing imperialist ambitions of NATO and Russia, the Turkish bourgeoisie negotiates through these sharpened international contradictions, opportunistically shifting its alliances between different imperialists blocs. In this light, its conflicts with American foreign policy and recent application to BRICS merely highlight the hypocritical nature of imperialism and the Turkish capitalist class.
Meanwhile, in the Netherlands, our ruling class deepens its alignment with the Euro-Atlantic imperialist bloc, further cemented by its role in hosting the upcoming NATO summit and supplying NATO’s new General Secretary. Turkeys’ strategic autonomy and pragmatism seems to be contrasted by the Dutch bourgeoisie’s complete alignment with its Western imperialist partners. Crucially however, these different paths only highlight the contradictions within imperialist alliances, and furthermore show how each national bourgeoisie takes part in alliances and blocs when it serves their own agenda best. Ultimately, these calculations of the imperialist system are driven by the profits of monopolies, which are achieved at the cost of increasing exploitation and impoverishment of the working class, whether in Turkey, the Netherlands, or elsewhere.
The struggle against imperialism is the struggle against all kinds of bourgeois rule, and is to be committed by the working class and its allies, which offer a perspective of peace, prosperity and socialism. Approximating the anniversary of the founding of your Party, your Congress will be marked by new struggles and challenges, but will be a continuation of your historic dedication to revolutionary and anti-imperialist politics.
